Welcome to my personal website. I am Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. My field of research is development economics, and most of my work is linked to the following topics:

• The role of hope and aspirations in economic development
• The impact of public-private interventions in food value chains

Besides, I am a board member of Foundation EO Metterdaad, and a board member of the Mr. G. Groen van Prinsterer Foundation, the think tank of the ChristenUnie.
